Friday Fotos: Silly Gooses!

A-roos to yous!

It's been quite an adventurous week around here. On Tuesday (hearts & love day), mom took us up to our favorite windmill park fur a walk. We dragged her over to the pond and said hi to the ducks, but the geese were no where to be seen. Where could they be???

We followed the trail of goose-hoo up

to the waterfall...but no geese there.

We followed it through the grove of trees - no geese,

but mom noticed a big pile of feathers scattered all over the lawn.

She was also amazed to find the trees flowering in mid-February:

We sniffed all around the windmill,

and even woo'd for the geese....

We checked around the gardens and all the way in the back

where the creek bends into the woods and a big field.......

...still no geese.

Moo checked both sides of the stone walls...

nope, no geese here, either.

Then we heard honking....

and saw a line of white heads bobbing up and down

behind the stone wall on the far side of the park.

The geese came through an opening and

marched single file all the down to the pond.

By the time we walked back, they were waiting fur us!

Happy Valentine's Day, Geese!

Woo had us a little worried maybe

woo became someone's Valentine's Dinner!

but all they said was "Honk honk honk honk honk".

Maybe that's "Nice to see woo two" in Goose-talk.

Today we are serious working dogs.... Mom has "paw surgery" at the hospital and we are going to take care of her when she gets home. We promise to watch over her and not let her do too much. We even promised not to shed so she won't have to vacuum fur a couple days. We promised to be really good about playing at home and not body-slamming her when we're all outside. We even promised to be extra-watchful that squirrels don't cause any problems. We may let her out of posting our blog fur us for a few days, but we'll make sure she reads your blogs to us. We appreciate if woo send her good thoughts & vibes Friday morning, okay?

Wednesday Woos- the Fort on our Island!

Hey pups, there's a fort right here on our island!

Ft. Adams was built in the 1799 to defend Narragansett Bay from the British! Mom took us fur a walk, a very short walk, the other day. We didn't stay long cause th wind blows really hard there, and the windchill factor it was only 8°, which apparently is too cold for humans. We thought it was GREAT!

So there's not many pics, but we thought we'd post them anyway.

I walked around to check out these cannon things...

very cautiously, cause mom said they be dangerous

and make a lot of noise...

...but not today! Nothing in there, Mom, is safe to come closer!

Moo spotted the entrance to the Fort. It had a big iron fence across it.

Hey Jack! Lets see if we can sneak in!

Hmm, I don't think so, moo, its too tight a fit fur my fluff!

Maybe I can squeeze in over here....Eeeeerrrrrrgh!

Nope, I don't want to squash my fluffy self and get stuck!

to put on the Good Ship Maverick??

"Ready, aim, fire, Harrrrr!"

...and with that, Mom headed back us back to the warm Siberian Outback.

Maybe we'll get to come again sometime,

I sure would like to come back here for more adventures!

This is for K, R, and their human woman, KB . They live way up in the beautiful mountains of CO. And KB is an amazing photographer! She posts pics of all kind of critters - their blog is a real treat to visit!

But sadly, there is a shadow on their happiness. K has osteosarcoma, and it isn't always easy to keep one's spirits soaring , even at those altitudes. So a group of bloggers have come together to dedicate today's blog posts as "PILLARS OF STRENGTH" for K & her pack, just to let them know they aren't in this alone.

It takes courage to face each day and fight this disease. We lost of our sweet boy, Sherman, to canine cancer that cut his life off way way too early. I watched my mother battle this disease for years as it stole her strength, vitality, and finally, her life. Love is what sustains us in this battle. And today , we celebrate Love. We're sending Sibe Vibes of healing and strength to K and her pack. God bless them. ~Mama Pat

Friday Furry Fotos

Woke up to a dusting of white stuff Thursday morning. Just enough to make the deck slick...

Thursday Color Challenge: Eucalyptus

The color for this week's True Colors Photo Challenge: EUCALYPTUS

"Now as this is an unusual color we are just going to ask for 1 item of this color and for the twist - lets see if you can find something Australian to photograph OR something that has eucalyptus scent in it."

Whew, that's a tough one!

I helped mom and it didn't take me long to lead her to:

FROGGIE!

He's eucalyptus green from his froggie eyes

all the way to his froggie feetie-feets!

He's our friend, sometimes he even brings

yummy treats for us in his basket.

The next photo is something Australian -

Australian Tea Tree Oil.

When we get bug bites or boo-boos, mom dilutes

a few drops & washes our skin with it.

It's a natural antiseptic, and it helps us heal.

We even found something that smells like eucalyptus!

I checked it out -

"Yup, Mom, sure smells like eucalyptus to me!"

Hmm, I think my snooter is working better

after having a whiff of that stuff!

I think we did pretty well in our hunt for eucalyptus, how about woo? Are woo willing to take the Challenge?

Now, I know no one thinks of me as a cracker dog, but, I'm going to share a secret:

I'm an easy-going patient kind of pup,

but when my sisfur Moo gets in one of her moods

and won't let up pestering me for days on end,

I go totally CRACKER DOG!

My fiercest Cracker Dog face!

Her pestering makes me go CRACKERS!

Friday: Failed Fotos

Ha-woo everyone!

Mom wanted to enter a good shot of us (wearing our Subaru bandanas) to enter in a contest sponsored by Subaru. These are a few of the out-takes. We can't show woo our entry cause the rules say "no posting on social media" till the contest is over, but it was fun making her work for that "perfect" shot!

It was a little overcast the first day, but mom gave it her best:

"Hmm, Jack, you've got that 'deer in the headlights' look"

"Moo.... don't block your brofur...."

"Moo..... seriously???"

Next day was sunnier, Mom took us to some other locations:

"Hey pups, you're looking too far to my right..."

"Hey pups, you're looking too far to my left..."

...too far left and right?

Head up, Moo!

....Moo?

At least we got heaps of bribes treats for our work.

Thursday Color Challenge

Finn's post got us curious about this Color Challenge thingy, so we went over & checked it out. Once a week a new color is posted and you have to take 3 photos of something that color, plus she adds a twist. This week's challenge is the color terra cotta, and the twist is to put something unusual in a terra cotta pot.

Our Mom loves color & she loves terra cotta, so she grabbed the camera and ran around the house. First she grabbed this terra cotta clay tile - its an historic reproduction from the Moravian tile Works in PA. She put it on one of the terra cotta squares in our rug. (That's where we usually lie - mom photo-shopped out he furs)

Then in the kitchen, she has not one but two terra cotta towels!

( She has even more in the cupboard.)

Kitty Lite is not only terra cotta color, mom made it from terra cotta clay! Its has a candle inside, this is one of the projects she taught at an art center long long ago.

And for something "unusual" in a pot,

how about an Easter Island Moai dude?

Bet you didn't expect one of those!
