Tasty Tuesday: Eye Candy

Wowzers! Take a look at the sunset last night!
Mom likes to time our walk so we can watch the sun setting over the Bay,
and once in a while its what humans call "eye candy"...
There are already Christmas lights on some houses - mom managed to snap this as we dragged her onto a neighbor's yard so we could check for pee-mail while she tried to take pictures....
Looks like more "eye candy", doesn't it?
Here is the canine version of "eye candy"... its us, "eyeing our candy"...
some tasty new treats we got for relatively good behavior on our walk!
And, yuppers, it was yummy!

a-roos to yous and toodle-woo!

Friday Fotos: T-Day Report

Mom took us fur a walk on First Beach on Thanksgiving morning. We started with a walk on the Cliff Walk cause there were a couple of huge dobermans running off leash on the beach & mom didn't want to take us there while they were dominating the beach scene.

OK, Mom, looks like the coast is clear now - can we go on the beach?
Woo, look! the seagulls are snacking on crabs and seasnails for their Thanksgiving dinner!
We're not all that keen on getting wet, but a wave snuck up on us from behind!
Look at Moo- no leash!
(this pic was an easy one for a little photoshop magic,
of course Moo wasn't really off leash.)
Two nice ladies stopped to talk & admire us & get kissies.
They kindly took a pic of Mom with us -
usually our pics come from the far end of the leash,
hence, lots of pics of us of our tail-ends, ha-roo roo!
Our Thanksgiving treat- raw turkey neck!
Yuuuuuummy!

Afternoon nap followed by turkey and
stuffing & gravy on our dinner kibble
followed by evening naps
followed by a good night's sleep.

We wish everyday was Thanksgiving dinner day!

a-roos to yous & toodle-woo,

Thanksgiving Woos!

Happy Thanksgiving!

And now, a woo from Moo:
and of course, Jack demonstrates
the beloved "after meal" pose:
We wish all of you a very happy, peace-filled day,
surrounded by your most beloved pack members
(whether in person or in thought),
on this day of Thanksgiving, wherever you live!

We count our cyber-friends as one of our blessings:
Your comments
double our joy as we share the good things,
touch our hearts when sadness overwhelms us,
give us a giggle as we laugh at ourselves,
encourage us when times are tough,
and last but not least,
we know we're never alone, cause
we're all just a "click" away from each other.

God Bless each of you!
Pat, JoJoe, and the whole cybersibes pack, past and present

Its a good setting to take a moment and reflect on all our blessings....

The View from the Moo: New Venture!

Well check ME out!
Today is the "official" start of Mom's new venture:
It's a shop on Etsy where she'll feature artwork with
animals and offer custom pet portraits.
~~~
Just for my Monday Moo blog,
Mom did a photo with all four ornaments of us,
her Cyber-sibes pack,
outside hanging on our little Blue Spruce:
I'm pretty sure anyone who's followed us for any length of time
will recognize Star, Sherman, Jack, & me.
In case you don't, we're identified the backsides:
They're really sparkly up close, there's iridescent glitter on top of that "snow".
Its too bad it isn't real snow, but I guess that wouldn't be too good for them.
They do have a sealer on them, but they're really for indoors.
There's 6 more smaller husky ornaments in the shop.
She'll add some paper & canvas pet portraits (as soon as she gets the photos done).
She'll also offer custom photoshop collages...
like the ones you see here on our blog.
They're great for things like cards and websites & stuff.
See, here's 3 new designs that are now cards:
Recognize this little mal gal?
It's Tess! Isn't she the cutest?
...and another for our family cards this year:
Mom has lots more Siberian-themed cards at JackStar Cards,
in case woo are looking for something like that.
Well all I can say is whew!
She's also been baking for a bake sale
and cooking chili for a cook-off... she is one busy mama!
Please pardon her absence from comments,
she still reading blogs & fb when she can.
And that's todays View from the Moo!
Friday Fotos: Ocean Walk
We've had some surprisingly good weather lately (by human standards),
so Mom & her furiend took Jack & I for a nice long walk along the ocean ...
Its so peaceful by the ocean...
The wind swirls across the waves...
Fragrant late blooms stand out vividly
against their fall foliage...
so serene!
Woo got that right, Moo.
I could stand here in the sunshine
listening to the waves and snoofer the salt air all afternoon!
2 minutes later.....
Alright already,
enough of that poetic stuff, lets keep walking....
Woo know what they say,
"A tired human is a good human"
.....or something like that.
Hope you have a blissful beginning to your weekend,
Jack a-roo & Miss Moo
The View from the Moo: Ha-roo roo roo!
Ha-woo everyone! Time again for the View from the Moo (that's me!)
Well.....Mom fooled us.... for a while!
Ha-roo roo roo! Good one, Mom!
*Laughter is good for woo -
hope your Monday starts out with a laugh and a smile!
*Laughter really is good for you! Here's why:
10 reasons why laughing is good for you
E-mailPrintPDF
http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/health/179039/10-reasons-why-laughing-is-good-for-you
In fact, laughter therapy is a big deal and can improve your health in lots of different ways. Just check out these 10 benefits of chuckling...
By Rob Mansfield
'Laughter is the best medicine': we're always being told that, but there's actually more to a good giggle than just raising our spirits for a couple of minutes.
Research shows that while children laugh up to 400 times a day, adults do it only 17 times a day, on average.
1. Laughter boosts your immune system
Researchers have found that laughter actually boosts the immune system, increasing the number of antibody-producing T cells. This then makes us less likely to get coughs and colds. It also lowers the levels of at least four hormones that are associated with stress, so after a good giggle you should be far less tense and anxious.
2. Laughter relieves pain
A good chortle has been found to reduce pain. Not only does it distract you from aches, but it releases feelgood endorphins into your system that are more powerful than the same amount of morphine.
3. Laughter improves your social life
If you can make people laugh, then you're likely to have more friends, because everyone loves a joker. You're also likely to achieve more at work: if you have a good sense of humour you'll be more productive, a better communicator and team player.
In fact, most things we laugh at aren't necessarily actual jokes, but comments in everyday conversation. Laughter is as much about social relationships as it is about humour.
4. Laughter helps relieve depression
Laughter has long been known to help people who are suffering from the either SAD or full-blown depression. Laughing reduces tension and stress, and lowers anxiety and irritation, which are all major factors that contribute to the blues.
5. Laughter boosts your relationship
If you're looking to find a new partner, then laughter will help you find a new mate. Men love women who laugh in their presence and women actually laugh 125% more than men.
And if you're already with someone, then a shared sense of humour is an important factor in keeping your relationship running smoothly.
6.Laughter gives you a mini-work-out
We've probably all used, or at least heard, the phrase 'my sides ache' after laughing too much. Well, it's no real surprise. A good belly laugh exercises the diaphragm, contracts your abdominal muscles and also works your shoulders. This will make you feel a lot more relaxed.
In fact, laughing 100 times is the equivalent to 10 minutes on the rowing machine or 15 minutes on an exercise bike, so break out those Only Fools And Horses DVDs and start watching!
7. Laughter protects your heart
According to a study by heart specialists at the University of Maryland, people with heart disease were 40% less likely to laugh in a variety of situations compared to people of the same age without heart disease.
Laughter has been found to benefit the way blood flows around the body, reducing the likelihood of heart disease. The research said that 15 minutes of laughter a day is as important for your heart as 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week!
8. Laughter lowers your blood pressure
People who laugh a lot on a regular basis have lower blood pressure than the average person. When people have a good laugh, the blood pressure increases at first, but then it decreases to levels below normal.
Breathing then becomes deeper and this helps to send oxygen-rich blood and nutrients throughout the body.
9. Laughter improves your breathing
Laughter empties your lungs of more air than it takes in resulting in a cleansing effect - similar to deep breathing. This is especially helpful for people who are suffering from respiratory ailments, such as asthma.
10. Laughter helps you lose weight
Burning off calories by laughing might not sound as if it has much use, but a hearty chuckle raises the heart rate and speeds up the metabolism.
If you're dieting, think about adding laughter to your exercise regime. A good sitcom might easily keep you laughing for 20 minutes or more.
