Friday Foto (2nd Friday post)

Khyra & the OP Pack both referred to Norwood's post: eYewatch Friday.
Mom liked that idea, so for our Friday Foto, we give woo:
Friday Focus!

Today, Star is focusing on her lovely holes in the backyard. Jack is focusing on his toys & chew hoofies and treats. What are woo focusing on?

Jack: Oops, I ate it!

A-roos to yous, Jack here. I guess woo all know how "Oops, I Ate It" goes, Star did a good job explaining it yesterday. So, woo want to hear my story?

I clean up after the humans all the time. I don't consider this "stealing" their food, I mean, they leave things sitting around. I believe they do this on purpose for me, cause anything at my level is mine, right? That only seems fair! To leave things at my level & then not expect me to clean up just doesn't make sense.

The usual things I take are usually nearly empty wrappers from all sorts of tasty cereal bars and ice-cream treats. I especially like the wooden sticks from those! Yougurt, pudding & butter tubs are good to lick. I did steal a corn cob outta da trash once, that bout gave my mom a heart attack, hoping I wouldn't have to get my tummy cut open to remove it. But I chewed it up real good, so I was ok.

My favorite thing is to chew up napkins and paper towels. It's a ritual - mom knows if she leaves napkins around, I'll take them & leave everything else alone. She learned this the hard way - one night I discovered a tasty pair of glasses & mangled the frames to bits. Mom was NOT happy with me in the morning. But they were titanium, so the eye-doc got them bent back, a little welding here & there, and they're almost like new. They sit a little crooked on her face now, and sometimes when she thinks I'm smiling at her, I'm really having a husky chuckle over how silly she looks in her crooked glasses. So she leaves me a napkin or two where I can get it every night.

You know, now that I think about it, I'm not a food thief after all. It's a career choice - I'm a professional
"cleaner-upper & general food container disposal expert".
Ha-roo, I like that!

Well that's my story & I'm stickin to it. (sticky & tasty is good)

Ha-roos to yous,
Jack a-roo

Star: Oops, I Ate It

Woos, Star here. Our kitty friend Huffle posted an open invitation to join Oops, I ate it. "when accepting this award you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans weren't watching. If you have never stolen any food, you must be a very good pup or kitty. You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward!!! Next add the logo of this award to your blog (optional), then nominate 5 other blogs...blah blah blah"
Well, technically, what I stole and ate wasn't human food, and the human food I stole I didn't get to eat, so I guess I get to keep the award.

Here goes my story:
Now woo know I'm a furry respectable & stately husky, but that was not always true. A couple of weeks after I chose my furever family, it was my boy's birthday. I was only a few weeks old, and the pretty decorations looked so tempting. I helped myself to a bright red flat stretchy thing that looked particularly tasty. My new mom came in and said "Where did that red balloon go?" and then freaked out when she realized I must have eaten it. She scooped me up, ran to the phone, and called the v-e-t. He actually laughed (I told her it was no big deal). I thought I was in the clear, but no, he told her how to make me barf it up. It was puppy torture! She poured salt on the back of my tongue, eeow - yuck! My poor puppy tummy didn't like that at all! But it worked, out came the balloon. Being a smart young whip, I never ate non-food items again.

I did try to steal a fish off the counter when we moved to our home here, but mom heard the "thwack!" when it hit the floor, and she rescued it before I got a chance to chow down. Oh well. I did it mostly for fun, really. Woo know, girls just want to have fun, right?

Me as a pup about the time I ate the red balloon.

Tomorrow Jack can tell woo all about his food-stealing antics.
We'll nominate this award to any other pup or kitty who hasn't gotten it yet. Let us know so we can go howl at your story!

Wooos,
Star

Monday Movies: No-waves & No-zoomies

Ha-roo pups, got your popcorn ready?

Today we have two featurettes (cause they are so short).

Mom thought she was recording this fantastic panorama of Hurricane Bill crashing waves Saturday when we were at the beach, but she didn't hit the right button so there is no cool video after all. Then she thought she was taking a still pic of Star sniffing the land shark, but no, its a video of Star sniffing the land shark. We had her add a few still photos to capture the flavor of the day. It's not a very good video, but, oh well. Obviously it wasn't one of her better days, ha-roo roo.

The next video is from this morning when I fooled mom into getting out of bed early. I ran in & out of her room, yipping at her to come play. Then I ran zoomies up & down the hallway & stairs just to build up her excitement. She grabbed the camera & I heard her tell Star, "Oh boy, Jack is in the mood for zoomies, lets get a movie!" The following is what happened once she stepped outside. Ha-roo rooo roo, gotcha Mom! (She must have forgotten about that non-compliance clause in my Siberian Husky contract!)

Bill Waves as He Goes By

Mom & dad took us to the beach yesterday cause some guy named Bill was supposed to give us a big wave as he went up the coast. Jack, having been appointed Knight of the New England Coast by King Skyboy, felt it was his duty to go wave back. When we got there, lots & lots of other people turned out to wave back as Bill waved by! There were all sorts of cool things going on. Sand sculptures, surfers, and kids that love dogs. Yup, it was festive.

There were some khool sand sculptures, including this tower.

Mom walking us for some meet & greet.

Bill was waving up a storm!

Oh my gosh - WATCH OUT DAD!!! IT"S A LANDSHARK!!!!!!!

This kid knows a landshark can't catch you if you SKIP real fast!

About 5 minutes later, Bill waved extra hard and took care of that land-shark , no problemo!

For a comparison of the waves, here we are with dad in just about the same spot on the beach. The first one was in April, the second one was yesterday.

Bill is a good waver, and we had fun waving our fluffy tails back.

Friday Fotos: Fence Friends

Here I am watching the neighborhood. I like to do that. Mom let me out late last night, and I stood by the fence, just watching, for a long time. Mom came out & looked thru the fence too. It was dark out so she had to look for awhile to see what I saw that was so interesting. Then she took my collar & quietly said, "Uh-oh, come on Jack, you're coming back inside NOW!"

This is the kind of critter I saw outside my fence:

One of these walked right in front of us the other night on our evening walk. I don't know what Mom has against them, she gets really nervous every time she sees one! I mean, how bad can they be? They're black & white, just like me, but they don't have big Mr. Fangs like I do or anything. They're furry tiny, really. I just want to be friendly, don't know if I'll ever get a chance to say hello to one of these little guys up close & personal. It's a mystery to me.

Happy weekend efurryone!

Jack a-roo

Sunday Sniffins

Hey, do I smell pretzels on the table?

Maybe we're gonna get those as part of Dr. Steve's prescription? We wrote to him about our malais, and he got right back to us. He's the bestest Sibe Doc!

Thanks, Dr. Steve!

Waiting

We're just kinda hangin' around waiting...

Not much going on, which, to tell you the truth, is ok with us. We've both been a little under the weather all week.
Mom already had a vet appt. for me for my shots today, but you wouldn't believe what else they did to me! It was embarrassing! I behaved really well and impressed them. They all said what a handsome guy I am, and so sweet, too. So how come they had to stick me with those needles? Give a guy a break!

Mom gave me a furry nice blob of pb when I got home, it was extra-extra-crunchy. Star snickered and said there was probably more than just pb, but I don't care. I love pb! I also heard her say that if Star isn't better by Monday, she's gonna take her to the v-e-t too. we'll see who snickers then!

Hmm, I think we need to consult Dr. Steve! He always gives good prescriptions.

Hope your weekend is... well, whatever you want it to be.

I r-e-a-l-l-y r-e-a-l-l-y wish ....
that you could go there???

I wish with all my furry little heart....
OK Jack, what is it you're wishing for?

that Moon and his family love their new home & have a great new life ahead of them!

Sometimes he surprises even me.
Happy moving day to the Moon Pack!
Paws crossed for a safe journey to Pawsylvania. Looks like they'll be in Horsham, still a couple hours away from Khyra, but I'll bet we could woo mom into making 2 stops when we go visit in our Siberian Outback!

Moon Moves

Ha-roos to yous again,
Yup, woo pups were right. Moon is moving. He's moving to Pawsylvania tomorrow. I'm really sad about my best buddy moving away.

Here's a few more pics of us happily hanging out yesterday. Mom took LOTS of pics, so we'll have lots of new posts for a while. (Maybe even a new Monday Movie this coming week!)

Checking out Star's end of the yard:

Mom took this pic through the screen in the window-she says we would have gotten up if she opened the door - &and she's right, too! Then she used a filter so it looks artsy instead of screeny. (This one will biggify really big!)

We'll see woo again tomorrow with more "Moon Moves"

Woos & a-roos,
Star & Jack-a-roo and Moonie too

PS for Pedro:
Moon lives just up the street from us. We have play dates so we can play husky-style! He's my best buddy. Star like him an awful lot too.

8/05/2009

Company!

A-roos to yous!

Me & Moon are hangin' out together all day long today cause a bunch of strangers are at Moon's house putting efurrything in boxes and into a big truck.

Mom says "enjoy him while you can". I wonder what that means?

Sunset Sunday

Sunday is a good day to watch a beawootiful sunset...
(even if the pics are of Saturday's sunset, ha-roo-roo-roo!)

We think the sunset was extra beawootiful because Charlie's spirit added so much light to the Rainbow Bridge, it spilled over for us to see.

We missed Friday foto so...

How about Saturday ...SNOW!

Darn, we woo'd to mom to do a "Christmas in July" post, and I guess she missed it by a couple hours....but here's a reminder that it won't be muggy & rainy forever.... in just a few short months, (paws-crossed), we'll be doing a samba in the snow...sibe style!

Woos & a-roos,
Think cool thoughts!
