Monday's view from the Moo: HB Dad!

I planned on showing woo a few more pics today to wrap up our visit to Weetamoo.

"Into the woods"

on the trail... don't I look like a wolf in this one?

and on our way home.
Today's a special day here, its dad's birthday! He & mom were busy all weekend, with getting dad a really special gift, and going out fur some fancy birthday dinner. We didn't mind, as we had lots of snow to play in. Sure, it would have been nice to get a doggie bag from a fancy place, but we understand that sometimes its so good, there's nothing left to take home! (Mom made it up to us with some extra home-cooked goodies.)

...And this is Dad's big surprise!
This replaces his old truck he's been driving for the past 3 winters with no heat. He went out Friday morning, and there were icicles inside his windshield... that was the final straw. This new truck is so cool - Dad got one with enough space Jack & I can ride along in too. We'll have our own bench seat and back windows & everything! Woo-hoo! We can hardly wait to go for a ride!

Oh - here's a photo of the fancy-schmany appetizer they ate, (we know there are lots of food-loving bipeds that read our blog too.) "Seared scallops on sweet potato pancakes with avacado aioli." Mm-mmm-mmmm!! Mom says they were unbelievably good.

and lastly, this "howling with dad" video.
Actually, I'm wooing "Happy Birthday Dearest Dad", dad's just howling.

...and that's today's View from the Moo!

Paws crossed for some khake & ice cream later,
toodle-woo,
Miss Moo

Friday Flick: Jack digs Weetamoo

First let us say how much we're enjoying all the snow we're getting! Now this is our idea of winter! Dad was home for another snow day today, we played outside while the bipeds cleared the snow from the drive... although we don't know why, cause they never left the house! Mom got a little video, but as we knocked her on her butt in the snow, it was a short video with some HBO words at the end. Oops.

Mom put the 2 short videos she took of our walk in Weetamoo. The first part is actually on the return from the tree were she tied us up so she could come around front & get those nice pics of our FACES we posted Wed. Otherwise, as the saying goes, "the view never changes if your not the lead dog", ha-roo roo! We were pretty intent on pulling her forward so she didn't stand much of a chance of getting anything with the camera when we first got there anyway.

Jack really dug Weetamoo. He loved the woods, the trail, the snow, and especially the stuff under the snow! Woo'll see what we mean!

Here's a couple close up stills of Jack's digging.

Silly boy! Mom was pretty patient while he dug, but it was furry cold, as woo can see by her cherry red cheeks!

There's still a few more pics to show woo. We'll save them for our next post.

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

I dunno, sis, but it smells tasty!
Our fur was standing on end~ was it the super-cold? or something just out of sight?!

Jack really dug Weetamoo! You'll see just how much he dug it on our Friday Flick - be sure to check back!

Monday's View from the Moo: Whew!

Our tails are draggin, after all the partying this weekend!
A big thank-woo to everypup & kit for all your nice comments on my Gotcha Day.

Sunday afternoon, Mom took us to a new place to walk, with a furry interesting name. It's called "Weetamoo Woods" - sounds like my kind of place, doesn't it?
Here's something interesting:

These woods were named for Weetamoo (which means “sweetheart”), also known as the Squaw Sachem. She was the wife of Massasoit, who was a chief of the Wampanoag Pocasset tribe, and a warrior in her own right.

Wait-- A female warrior? named Weet-a-Moo/Sweetheart? Hey, that does sound like me, ha-woo! Mom always calls me her SweetieMoo... (I think I hear a new nickname coming on!)

We have some great pics, but mom is dog-tired after her marathon GotchDay photo-collage, so we're giving her the night off. We'll share them later this week.

Happy #1 Gotcha Day, Moo!!!

Woo-hoo!
Let's hear it for Moo!
She joined our pack one year ago today!
Let the party begin!

We chose a lovely location with lots of snow to play in, and a nice cozy chalet for those who'd rather not. There's lots of delicious Happy Hearts cookies for snacking on, and plenty of fun stuff going on.
We've got silly Sibes, merry Malamutes, kozy kitties, and bloggin' buddies!

Click to biggify so woo can see all our guests.
Then go bark/meow, whatever, to your humans and make them give you treats too.
You can party with us from the comfort of home.
Sweet little Moo, we love you dearly-
You are Mom's ever-present companion,
Dad's howling partner,
and Jack's very best furiend & sisfur.
You are our Moosie-Moo, our Super-Mooper,
and a truly special girl,
Happy Gotcha day, sweetie!

Mom, Dad, and Jack a-roo

Fabulous Friday Fotos

GUESS where we are.

Here's a hint

Have woo figured it out yet?

Ha-roo! We are at the beach in the middle of winter!
After our snowstorm, mom wanted to see if there was snow on the beach, so we all hopped into our Siberian Outback & drove to the ocean. Good thing Mom has that all-wheel drive, cause we were the only car there, and the parking lot was nothing but big icy ruts!

But it was so worth it for the view:
We were there in late afternoon, just before sunset...
"Moon over snow-covered dunes"
Click & biggify the pics for a good look at these shells in the snow & sand!
Woo don't see that everyday at the beach!

How about a beawootifully sunlit view of the Moo...
The light and the sound of the waves were magical!
We'll leave woo with one last look at the sun, the surf, the sand, and the snow.
Ahhh, isn't this a serene way to start your weekend?
Thanks fur joining us on our trip to the winter beach.

Monday's View from the Moo

I can hardly believe its already Monday....time for the view from the Moo.

I really have nothing to report, as Mom abandoned us all weekend. Jack & I had to stay out in the cold snow, with no food or water.... no shoes or coats...... and we had to hike 50 miles through a blinding blizzard trying to find shelter....

HA ROO ROO ROO!
I may have exaggerated just a smidge.
But the first part is true - Mom was gone to a painting workshop
all day Sat & Sun.
But we weren't really abandoned, Dad was here too.
We did stay outside , but only cause we are loving all this snow!
I especially like to snooter around in it, and crunch on the crispy frozen bits.

So, if woo pardon me, I'm going to get back to chewing on some ice and
on my brofur!

And that's today's View from the Moo,
toodle-woo!

Monday's view from the Moo: Snow day!

*************************
Saturday night, the snow started falling....YES!!!!
Jack woo'd that he thought we should definitely go fur an adventure walk Sunday morning.
We even talked dad into coming along! The bipeds wanted to go somewhere easy to walk, so we went walking where we could see the ocean.
It was bewootiful sunny day, mom liked the bush Jack & I were checking out. she said it looked like a crazy bird nest on top of a trunk. We'll have to revisit it in the spring and see what it looks like then! Maybe it really is a crazy bird's nest!
Mom thought I was looking at the ocean in this next pic, (but I'm really watching for mice in the weeds). See that thing ahead that looks like a ramp? That's the famous 40 Steps. It was "40 Snowy Slippery Steps" today, so we did not go down.
Those boys, they are such party-poopers. They were ready to head back to the Siberian Outback before I'd even had a chance to catch anything! Oh well, it was a furry nice walk.
Speaking of parties, I'm going to have one in two weeks! Would woo like to join me? Either comment here (so we can go collect a pic of woo from your blog), or send us a pic of woo between now and Jan. 19th, then drop by on Jan. 23rd for our First Gotcha Day Moo-versary! Friday: Stylin!

We received this furry nice award from our furiends at 5 Sibes. Thanks, pups, we're honored woo picked us!

"To accept the award, share some fun or interesting facts about yourself. Post this award on your website with a link back to your nominator and don't forget to share interesting or fun facts about yourselves. To pay it forward, nominate your choices for Stylish Blogger Award recipients! "

OK, we'll let mom handle this one.
Thanks, pups! I'll keep to an animal theme:

1. The first pet I can remember was a parakeet. My mom always had a parakeet or canary when I grew up. The most unusual one was a rust-colored canary with flecks of orange on his wings. I still love birds, and maybe I'll have one again sometime (when I don't have a house full of predators!)

2. My first pet of my very own was a hamster named Buttons. He was all white and had bulgy red eyes. He was really cute. I had a second hamster named Raisins (after the dark spot between his ears), and I dearly loved that little golden-brown hamster. We played together all the time. He got lost inside my piano for a week once, we finally found him after the piano started making some rather ghostly sounds one night!

3. We got a dog when I was about 10. He was from the pound, a little cocker-mix. His name was Tex, and he was lots of fun. My 2 brothers and I learned a lot about responsible pet ownership from that little guy. Every kid should have a dog. (provided they are taught how to treat them right)

4. I tried bringing home strays, but I was never allowed to keep them, darn it.

5. I wanted a kitten, but my dad really really didn't like cats.

6. My first pet when I moved away from home was a sweet little tabby cat named Amber. I owned cats for the next 30 years, probably about 8 of them. My last cat, ChowChow, was with me for almost 16 years. He was a Siamese cross, his coloring was like a ragdoll, but he had short fur, and beautiful blue eyes. We had also owned his litter-brother, a handsome black & white boy named Puss In Boots. He eventually picked out a nice country home for himself... (apparently he didn't want to move with us.)

7. We've been owned by 6 dogs. (5 Siberians & 1 Rottie-Aussie mix). I think we're officially addicted to Siberians. (Is there a program for that?)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ha-roo roo roo, mom is so funny! Well, we're glad she's addicted to Siberians!
We asked her to put a picture, and she said here she is with her first puppy! Can we hear a big "Awwwww!" please?
We'll be passing this award on to several of our blogging pals, hope they have as much fun with it as we have. And thanks again to 5 Sibes fur thinking of us!
Monday's View from the Moo
Ha-roo eveyone! Mom "forgot" it was Monday Moo day! She say the holidays have her all mixed up. Whatever!
Remember that she's been doing a pet portrait exchange?
This is one mom did and sent to another artist, Kerry, its her cat Claw-dette
Well just look at this beawootiful oil painting that Kerry sent back!
It's ME, MOO!
Mom & dad just love it too and say this one's getting framed. I hope that's a good thing. (Its generally not good to get framed, is it?)
And that's going to be it today, a view OF the Moo!
Toodle-woo,
Miss Moo
Off to a good start
A-roos furiends,
how's your 2011 going so far? We played in our snow for a while yesterday, then it got furry warm and the snow turned to mud by the end of the day. But I had to lay down the law for my sister, Moo.
We were zooming and wrestling, having a good time. Look at her, smacking me in the snooter! She loves it when I chase her!
On one of our lightning-fast passes, I bumped my leg on the door frame and woosers, did it hurt! I howled fur mom, and sprawled on the cool snow till mom came to see if I broke my leg (its possible, woo know). You'd think a sisfur would giver her brofur a minute to catch his breath, wouldn't woo? Not Moo, oh no. She kept pestering me. I showed her curled lips - a warning that's recognized by dogs of all breeds world wide, but she just kept pestering...
I finally had to flash Mr. Fangs to convince her I MEAN IT!!! STOP PESTERING ME!!!
I wasn't trying to be mean, but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do to protect himself when he's down. Mom rubbed my leg with her magic healing hands and after a few minutes, I felt better. I was ready to walk around again, and went in fur a nap.
Moo felt bad, I could tell, cause she snuggled up and stayed with me till I felt up to playing again. She really is a pretty sweet sisfur, I wouldn't trade her fur anything.
A-roos to yous,
Jack a-roo
