All neat & tidy!

Ha-woo, we posted a while ago about our peeps remodeling the entry hall, and now its done-done! Since the hallway is where most of our stuff is kept, we thought we'd show woo around-

Looking towards the new front door:
Stars & stripes theme mirror & coat rack:
(we'll get back to the bench in a moment)

Looking toward the back door - our dog-door to our fenced back yard,
a guard-gate so we don't escape when the doors have to be open,
mom's painting & a cool star nite-light:

Now, about that bench...
its a good place for taking off boots & setting packages down...
but it also hold a secret stash....

....all our stuff! Leashes, harnesses, tie-outs, poop bags, dog bowls all furry neatly tucked away in the drawers & cubbies. The new bins on either side hold our bags of food* and paw-drying towels & a few extra rugs to put down when its muddy. Mom stashes her mud-boots under there in the winter, too.

Hey, mom... we saw the food bins opened...
does that mean we get early dinner?
No??? Oh well, I guess we can go outside & play bitey-face chase till its dinnertime!

A-roos to yous!
jack a-roo & miss moo

*Its best to keep pet food in the bag it comes in, rather than dumping it into a storage bin. The bags are treated to keep the food from going rancid. She found this out talking to a pet food manufacturer- sharing it cause many people don't realize that its important to keep the food in the original bag.

Wow - that is really nice. Great idea about the safety gate. We have one here too that keeps us away from the front door when Mom wants to leave it open. For some reason she thinks we might bolt right through the screen:)

Thanks for the tip about the dog food - we have bins too, but we didn't know about keeping the food in the original bags - makes good sense too.

Hope those bowls got filled soon.

Well, there's always ONE way to keep food from going rancid without worry of it being in its bag or other container: FEED IT ALL TO THE HUSKIES! duh. (Juno made me say that...)
;)

Seriously tho: LOVIN the new entry way! Love the wainscotting and I love the design and space.

i don't get the "baby gate" tho for the doggie door to the fenced back yard... if it's fenced and the door is open, why would you worry? is it not sibe proof fencing back there? (if so, i would prolly get the baby gate too...)

Dear WD, the gate keeps us from escaping out the front door or side door to the garage (dad leaves the doors open a lot), and it also keeps us either out of or inside the house, depending on what's going on.

Peeps carrying in groceries? We are confined to our yard or just inside the back door.

Peeps working in the yard or on the deck? We are blocked from going out until all the fence gates are latched securely.

We also get blocked out of the house when company arrives till we know if they are dog-friendly. Wouldn't want anyone hurting US!

That looks very good and I'm glad to see you are not likely to run out of food any time soon.

Dear Jack and Moo -- thank woo for the tour of the done-done entry hall! I agree with Hound Girl, it looks organized and amazing! I like the star night light very much and guess who I thought of when I saw it. Hey, I saw a young man today walking a Sibe! I couldn't help watching them -- especially the dog's beautiful coat and fluffy, flooffy tail :-D

HUGS from your admiring fan,
Elyse

PeeEssWoo: I will take kitty treats to the shelter for treat day :) or if I can get out to the nicer (but further away) one I will take dog treats too.

Thanks for the tip on the foodables. On the other hand, even the extra jumbo sized bag of kibbles doesn't last too long and I doubt I can retrain my husband to leave the food in the bag...

Our mom LOVES the decor -- we love the secret stash of FOOD!!!! (Great advice about the bag -- thanks for the tip!)
I think your mom's painting is really the BESTEST part of the decor. Our mom and dad are doing remodeling, too -- but outside in the yard. It's a mess out there - which me and Zim think is great! Ha woo.

Just a reminder that tonight is the deadline for the Howl-o-ween/Autumn photo contest! I think you mentioned you were sending in a pic - your header is festive too! Hope you're joining for at least the parade slideshow and/or the contest!

It looks fantastic! Mom loves how it looks very nautical and I love how your food bins are in the open instead of behind a closed door like mine!
