Be it evfur so humble

Woos & a-roos friends,
We're finally back bloggin. Our bi-peds abandoned us and went on a trip. I swear, all they do is think about food- they went to the "Big Apple" and they didn't even bring any tasty things back for us. I'm sulking about this, in one of my furry favorite sleepy-spots -- on the landing at the top of the stairs. It's quite comfurtable - I cozy into the corner - see my feety-feets on the side and back walls?

What about the pictures?   I think that's why I love this spot so much.   Those are some of mom's paintings. It's Star, mom's kitties Purdy & Chow Chow, and that bottom one is Rosie Posie when she was a crazy puppy.  Do woo notice who's missing?  Yup, us boys, Sherman & Jack.   Mom did finish one of Sherman recently, it's hanging in the hall:

so I'm guessing I'm next.  Star says she's due for an updated portrait.  I think we'll be keeping mom busy for a while.

Back to the Big Apple -- I overheard mom talking about delicious corned beef & swiss on rye, and CHEESECAKE, which must be furry good cause her eyes glaze over & she salivates when she says it.  She told me she went on a boat to visit a giantess that stands on top of a castle!  Here's a picture she took thru the salt-stained windows of the ferry boat:

And here she is from the top of the boat, with the city in the background:

Mom says she's really spectacular up close.   She brought home a little version of her I'm not allowed to play with.  (Well actually, Mr. Fangs is not allowed to play with her.)  What ever.

Dad took this one looking up from the top level of the base, he couldn't stand back any further or he'd fall off.

and this is what she looks like on the inside: you can see the winding staircase that goes to the top, but nobody's allowed up there any more.

All in all, I'm happy to have the bipeds home again.  They may not be much, but they're mine.

Woos & A-roos to yous,
Star & Jack

Cliff Walk wrap-up

Today we'll wrap up the pictures from our Iditawalk down the Cliff Walk. We left off at the furthest point of our walk. As we prepare to start back, Jack takes a moment to contemplate the beauty of the moment, the wind and the water.

Mom stopped & gave us a drink of water under a tree across from this beautiful gate.

This is Rosecliff - woo may recognize it because it was used in the films The Great Gatsby, True Lies, and Amistad.

Going under the bridge again. "Hungry Jack!"

Looking back the direction Jack's facing.  A man walking past us joked that we looked ready for the Iditarod, so Mom told him about the Idita-walk and huskies in general.  Nice spot to stop for a chat, eh?

This is a short video mom found that our boy took this past summer - he was standing on "the 40 Steps", a long staircase that goes down from the Cliff Walk to a viewing platform.  He filmed looking down from there. You get an idea how windy it is on the Walk!

We hope woo enjoyed our walk.  Maybe woo can join us next time?

Iditawalk Cliff Walk #2

Woos & a-roos again!   Did woo enjoy yesterdays pics?   Here are a few more.

This is looking back where we came from. Look at distant shore to the upper right, see the light line across the bottom at the edge of the water? That's Easton's Beach.  That's where our Siberian Outback is parked!

Here we are at the furthest point we walked.  It's a little overlook a few steps down from the main path. Its located in the "backyard" of the Breakers Mansion.  Jack is even further out cause he ducked under the railing to get a better look!
Now here's a question -  did woo see the "hidden husky" at first glance?   Look close- Star's coat blends right into the brush. Ha-roo roo, even our mom didn't see her right away.

Mom found a pic of the back of the mansion as viewed from the Cliff Walk- imagine how fast we could race across that yard if we were allowed to run free?

Here is another view looking off the edge - watch your step!

Here's us saying "OK mom, we think woo have walked far enough - better start back!"

We'll post the last 4 pictures of our walk back tomorrow. See woo then!

Idita-Walkin' the Cliff Walk

We Iditawalked in a really cool place with mom- along Newport's famous Cliff Walk. It runs along the ocean behind some of Newport's biggest mansions.  We saw the Atlantic Ocean, seagulls, waves, sniffed lots of stuff, and got lots & lots of compliments. It was great! We walked mom for 1 1/2 hours.  She said her pedometer measured our walk at a little over 3 1/2 miles -- 8000 steps! Good thing those steps were forward and not up and down.

The Atlantic:
Looking over the side:
Really cool rocks - you can't really tell here,
but it's a LONG way down to those rocks!
The stone tunnel:
We're just walking along, singing our song, side by side!

We'll post some more pictures from our walk tomorrow!

Sunday Siberian Sqwirrel Soliloquy

so·lil·o·quy
Etymology: Late Latin soliloquium, from Latin solus alone + loqui to speak

1 : the act of talking to oneself.
2: a dramatic monologue that represents a series of unspoken reflections.
.....................................................

Woo Mr. Sqwirrell, I just don't know what to tell ya. We were getting along so well when we met at Christmas...

Seemed like we were gonna be buddies, playing together, sharing sleeping spots and everything...

Aw, nutz!   What happened?
Well, there's this old Siberian saying:

Red sky in the morning
Sqwirrells take warning.

Woo should have heeded the warning, Mr. Squirrell.
Woo should have steereed clear of Mr. Fangs.
Now look at woo.

Poor woo, looks like woo were de-squeakered, woo couldn't even call for help...

I'll ask mom to fix woo, but ya know, I don't think she's gonna believe it was the red sky that caused this.  Woo are going to get me into so much trouble!

Honest, that's what happened!

Sorrowful woos & a-roos,
Jack  "victim of circumstances beyond my control"- a-roo

Sad woos

We send sad woos to our friend, honorary husky Huffle Mawson. Her brother Salvador has made his trip to the Rainbow Bridge. Please stop by to say woo or meow to Huffle's family. Don't woo think he will look splendid with his fur-angel wings?

A furry quick post

From our Idita-walk on Groundhog Day...
"Do woo smell one in there?"

C'mon out, Mr. Groundhog!  We're waiting!"

He never did come out, but we saw our shadows. Yeah, six more weeks of winter!

Don't forget to check Jack's update on the Team SiberMal blog!

Mom's been tagged for the "40 facts" game.  She's working on it, except that it snowed here, so we are making her let us in & out & in & out & in & out...
Woo can have her back when we're done.

We'll leave woo with a scene from our walking path:
