Solstice Sunday Salute
Each year on the Summer and Winter Solstice, there is a Siberian Husky Memorial to celebrate the lives of those who have earned their silver harness and now run free North of the Rainbow Bridge. The list includes both beloved companions and nameless rescue dogs, who may never have had a family of their own. If you'd like to participate in honoring their memories, at 8 pm your local time, light a candle, turn towards the North, and wish the 240 siberians on the list (plus any others you wish to honor) Godspeed and a swift trail.
We will be wooing towards the north for our Sherman (he's on the list), dear Kelsey Ann (she's on the list too), and our two siberian friends who recently crossed the Bridge, Anna and Gracie.
If woo have a dear departed sibe, please post their name in a reply & we'll keep them in our hearts, too. Remember to light a candle at 8PM tonight!
Wooos & a-rooos,
Star & Jack a-roo
*edit*
We just came across the sad dedication for this little sweetheart, Kiki. We know a Kiki, so it caught our eye. Now mom's eyes are brimming over with tears for this little one. We mourn for her tonight.
Born: December 2007
Died: April 14, 2008
City: Windsor
State: ON
Country: Canada
KiKi was the beautiful, 4 month old Siberian Husky puppy who was beaten by her owner in Windsor, Ontario. The Humane Society put her down April 14, 2008 due to the severity of her injuries. We should not forget her, or others like her who die never knowing a loving home. She is in the most loving arms of all now, North of the Rainbow Bridge.

That's a bewootiful idea -- The Sibe Memorial! Please think of Mommy's Shanna Maidel, too, fur us - she crossed the Bridge on 12/12/06.

We'll light a candle for Sherman and Kelsey Ann. I wish we had enough candles to light one for everyone but there will be a few more candles lit for all the other pups who crossed the Rainbow bridge.
Khandle lit BUT my mom has stay bakhk - otherwise her leaking will make the flame go away!
We are thinking of Taltia and LadyGray. One of Lady's nikhnames was Flame Tail bekhause her tail had a khrook in it. Sadly, Mom thinks it had been broken at one time.
This is a furry beaWOOtiful way to honour the pakhk North of The Rainbow Bridge!

Thanks for the posting - we also posted about this topic today. We are remembering our dear Nikita, the Mama Bear to the Herd (specifically Natasha) as well as the Non-Siberians in our past. Our candle was lit at 8 and we shared our thoughts for your losses as well.
Thank you for sharing. We lit our candle and Momma shared the tributes with us.
