Monday's View from the Moo on Sunday

Mom took us for a walk around the reservoir last night.... and, can woo believe it, she forgot to bring her camera! So, she found these pics from a past trip with Jack & Star. It was my first time and I loved it! We didn't go down to the water like this, but we walked around the path at the top of the rocks.
Jack & I took mom fur one fast-paced walk! I guess bipeds don't realize how strong we huskies are till we decide to go where we want and drag them along, ha-roo roo roo! The best part was that there were lots of little critters to sniff out of the grasses. I even caught one! Yup, we were walking along and a big fat field mouse made a dive off the path to try to hide in the rocks & I CAUGHT him with my teethies! Mom was pretty surprised, cause I was on the leash & all, and she didn't seem too pleased. She grabbed my jaws & opened them and told me to drop it! I resisted at first, but I hate to see her so upset, so I dropped it. Mom said she was afraid I was gonna swallow it whole! I offered to just take little bites, but she made us keep walking.

I plucked that mouse right from the rocks near here!
Probably some lucky coyote got to enjoy my "catch of the day" last night. I'm sure a good meal like that won't go to waste. Mom says she is sure if we ever ran off that we would not starve. Isn't that a good thing?

With all the food around here this weekend, I don't think anyone is going to starve over here! Hope woo get to enjoy some turkey leftovers at your house, too.

And that's Monday's View from the Moo, on Sunday.
(and a pic of me, Moo, very satisfied with myself)

Prayers for our friend, please

There's a furry special man who could sure use some prayers. He's our friend Phred, in Ohio. He's gravely ill and everyone is furry worried about him. It would take pages to tell woo about him, so let us just say that he is a friend of dogs in need, and the kind of guy who makes things happen behind the scenes. He never wants anything for himself, but would give you the shirt off his back. He's been a driving force behind the dogpark there, and has donated generously for Memorial benches & trees to honor many of our beloved pups. He's arranged numerous gatherings for our Pet Talk pet group over the years, with many people traveling across country to spend time with folks & their dogs we've gotten to know on the internet. He's also stepped in and rescued dogs in need, and opened his home to one special half-husky fella whose elderly owner passed away.

This picture is from one of the Husky Hikes sponsored by Adopt-a-Husky to raise money for their rescue. Its our dad with our RB sibelings, Star & Sherman, then Phred and his "three amigos": Smokey, Bowser, and Cinder. Next to them are our friends Anna & Roxey, & Anna's friend with one of her rescues, Nikki.

(By the way, Roxey is currently recovering from knee surgery & could use some sibe vibes & pawsitive prayers, too.)
We know everyone is busy this time of year, but please pause for a moo-ment and add a good word for Phred. We know that Phred's RB pups & Bowser are watching over him. We've asked Star & Sherman, (who both knew & loved Phred), to stand watch, too.

Whenever any of PetTalk's dogs or humans is in need, Phred always calls on his "Prayer Pups" to ask God to guide their care and send them healing, and now its time fur us to step in and ask the same for our dear friend.

Mom is getting leaky again, so we'll close, but she says thank woo ever so much.

Its come & gone....

Thursday's feasting was followed by a rude surprise fur the bipeds. After mom got the kitchen cleaned up for the night, she went in for her shower, & the bathtub had belched up the contents that were supposed to have gone down the kitchen disposal. As she did not wish to shower with the ground-up leftovers, coffee grinds, and grease, she passed on the shower.

Dad & mom spent most of Friday figuring out what went wrong, snaking out pipes in the basement & bathroom, and inspecting drains...Followed by a thorough scrubbing of the tub. We're furry happy to report the immediate emergency has been dealt with, and Mr. ProfessionalPlumber will be called. We hope he brings A. Drill and Mr. Sawsall and his other work buddies with him and we can avoid a repeat of this in the future.

Since this auspicious event was deemed not photo-worthy,
we made a sketch of us
watching from a safe distance down the hall:
Having to deal with plumbing most of the day kept the bipeds from taking us out on that car ride mom promised. (She didn't even check blogs like usual, either!) It also kept them out of the stores & Black Friday Frenzy, like anyone really needs to go shopping at 5 am anyway!

We are expecting a make-up car ride on Saturday. We have paws crossed there will be actual photos of something interesting to post soon.

Have a fun-filled weekend!

Monday's View from the Moo

Ha-roo dear readers! It's time again for my weekly post, dedicated to my point of view. actually, sunday's view from the Moo was pretty spectacular - mom took Jack & I to a special place fur a walk along the ocean. It wasn't a beach, it wasn't a trail, it wasn't even a walk on the shore.... we walked along the Cliff Walk! Mom found this aerial view so woo can see where it is (- it runs behind some of Newport's most beawootiful mansions!)
We've walked it before, but not fur quite a while. We were furry excited & dragged mom-- I mean, walked so fast Mom couldn't get any pics on the way to the far end. When we finally stopped, she snapped us looking out over the ocean from the top of the steps :

The sun was starting to set, so we slowly came down the steps and walked back so as not to get to the car too quickly (clever, huh?).
Mom took a few khool pics of the full moon rising. This is what Jack & I were looking at:

Here's a close-up:

This was how the moon looked by the time we got back towards the car:
There weren't too many other people still around by then. Just us and the cool salty air, so furry nice! Thanks for dropping by to see today's view from the Moo,

Wednesday Woos

Here's more pics of our trip to the other island - we'll pick up where we left off Monday, after we'd thoroughly snoofered the area around the inlet. We got back in the siberian Outback and drove. It was so beawootiful- crisp air smelling like leaves, beawootiful golden trees...

"Hey mom, where to now?"
After a while mom parked and we walked till we got to....
The Lighthouse!
Lots of other bipeds and pups were there too.

Wooos! Jack- look behind woo!
Lots of interesting things to snoof...
The sound of waves crashing was pretty loud!
It was a beawootiful day!
Late in the afternoon, we drove back over the bridge to our own island...
and dreamed about all the things we snoofed....zzzzzz
thanks for joining us on our adventure-

a-roos to yous,

Monday's View from the Moo

It's Monday morning again, furiends! Did woo have a nice weekend? We did! Today's View from the Moo is short & sweet - just a few light-hearted moments of Siberian-Smack-down.

We love to entertain each other!

Mom took Jack & I over to another island to have a look around. We parked by this inlet, there are some scuba divers on the far side.

This is from the inlet looking towards our island in the distance.
The rocks were fun to climb on.

Jack & I, checking things out.

I put my Moo-paws on the wall for a better look at the bay.
On the way back to the car we passed a man walking a large bulldog. That pup was trying as hard as he could to drag his owner over (we hope it was to say "hi"), and he barked & barked, but we stayed calm and strolled right on by. Mom was furry proud of us. We got a treat when we jumped back into our Siberian Outback. Mom said something about "Sibes are so cool", but we already know that!

Next, mom took us to another part of the island with a lighthouse on it. But I think I'll let Jack tell woo more about that part of our trip later this week.

And that's today's view from the Moo.
Have a good week, friends!

Toodle-woo!

Monday's View from the Moo

I was alerted by MFT (aka: Khyra) a while back about a new product on the market. I think I should be their spokesdog, as I am the perfect candidate for a product called TruMoo. after all, I am the one & only tru Moo. In preparations for my new career, I am practicing my serious face. If woo want to be taken seriously, woo have to look the part.
Take it from a tru Moo: "Its good stuff. Buy it."

Mom was pleased to see that it came in coffee flavor. After taking my promo photo, she tasted it and said "Yum!". So there ya go. Go get some and tell them "A tru Moo sent woo".

And that's todays View from the Moo.

Turning back the clock

A-roos to yous, Jack here. Well, its that time of year, when the humans partake of yet another ritual we just don't get. They change the time. They "fall" back an hour today. This means that when we want our breakfast at 7 am, it will be 6 am. Which means mom won't get up until 8 am, which will be 7 am, so she thinks breakfast is on time. But, we know that its really an hour late. Follow that? Harumph! Neither do we.
Thought we'd "turn back the clock" for our blog post today. Here's a few pictures from this same weekend last year:

Tori had just arrived from Ohio:

I impressed her with my stylish sleepy pawsition:
I showed her our nice igloos & straw:
We took her to the ocean and we played on the rocks:
And we spent time sitting with dad near one of the lighthouses while the sun set.
Woosers, that seems so long ago! I hope Tori can see these from the RB and remembers the great time we had together, brief as it was. Looking at these made Mom leak, but smile, too. (No pics of Moo, she didn't join the pack till the end of January, 2010.)

We also want to let woo know that the *SOS SRF (Save Our Siberians) is starting their fall auction tonight at 9pm! There's lots of cool stuff, mostly related to Siberians in some way. There is even stuff made from our spun fur! Mom is donating a set of cards made from her artwork to the auction, too. Its always fun to take part in, and it helps with medical costs for injured rescued Sibes. Paws crossed the auction is a big success!

This week while mom was waiting fur her new computer to be ready, she took some time to do important things ... like paint this portrait of ME! (You can tap it to bigify)

Me, Moo

..and since we have not been in a mood to pose, she doesn't have any new pics to post anyway.

Hope woo enjoy your weekend!

Monday: A View of the Moo

This week's View from the Moo is a view OF the Moo! Mom is part of a pet portrait exchange & we received this Siberific little portrait of MOI from another pawticipant:
(I think she captured my Moo-grin pawfectly!)
This morning I let mom grab a couple pics of my comings...
...and goings through our hidey-hole in the hedges.
Sneaking thru here is a great way to catch woo-know who fur a surprise attack!
On the computer front, that nasty Trick turned into a Treat: after consulting with the repair bipeds, dad decided its time to get mom a new computer-- woo-hoo!

And that's this week's view from the Moo,

Toodle-woo!
