Happy Trails!

Hi everyone! It's me, Moo, here to tell woo about what we're doing!

We're officially starting our pawticipation in the
This is an event to promote physical fitness in the spirit of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. The Iditarod Sled dog race is 1049 miles long from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. Off we go!

Our walking path doesn't have any snow, glaciers, polar bears or igloos or anything like that, but it's still pretty nice. Jack says to keep an eye out fur evil squirrels, especially down the hill by the fence.

The official site says "To complete the Idita-Walk, simply walk 30 minutes a day for 35 days betweenFebruary 1, 2010 to March 31, 2010 for a total of 1049 minutes(any combination of minutes will work - just reach 1049 during the 59 day event!)."

Pretty khool, huh?
I think Jack is thinking about when he got to be a sled dog with his friend Moon last September at the TOTTSHR Hike....
remember.......remember.......remember......
Next stop......Alaska!
Woo can still pawticipate, just follow the links above and sign up.
See woo on the trail!

Thursday Thrills: HIKE!

The man shouted HIKE...
And here I thought that was what we were doing!

But this "Hike!" is a really fun one! It's one command huskies willingly obey, cause it means we get to trot our feety-feets and run run run! For a few minutes, I got to do what efurry husky dreams of, what we were born to do .... I got to be a sled dog,
"Jack, Sled-Dog of the North"!
Me and my best buddy, Moon, we were two wild & crazy sled dog guys, having a blast!

We thanked the nice people for letting us be sled dogs, boy, I sure envy you real sled dogs. Maybe someday I'll get to be a sled dog again!

The pups after us were fun to watch, too. Doesn't their team looked a little funny? That's cause they were a Sheltie and a 6-month old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. And oh my dog, she was cute!

She gave it her best, just loping along...

Before they tried it, Moon gave her some encouragement.

She was such a cutie!

We had a great time! Here's one more spectacular look at sled dogs Moon & me (and Michael, one of Moon's 3 boys):

Jack, Sled Dog of the North, signing off!

PS - Miss Fluffy Tail herself has some great videos & pics of the hike events on her blog today too - be sure to stop by & have more fun! She even has one of us being sled dogs, and Moon doing the weight pull, a-roos!!!
