Monday's View from the Moo: Mellow Monday

Good Moo-rning loves!

It's raining today, so I'm just staying inside today, chewing my nylabones...

while Jack snoozes behind mom's chair.

Seems like a good day for a little smooth jazz.

Mom & dad went to the opening night of the Newport Jazz Festival last week. It was held at the The Newport International Tennis Hall of Fame:

More music followed from Michael Feinstein with special guest Joe Negri. Joe Negri was also known as "Handyman Negri" around Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Mom says she remembers him! Friday: Sibe Vibes fur a friend

Ha-roo, dear ones. This is our beautiful GSD furiend, Sierra. Isn't she gorgeous? Mom's known Sierra & her mom fur many years. Sierra was having a few health issues this summer, and two days ago, they got some very, very bad news. (big c bad news)
Sierra & her brofur Buddy, mom and dad, are filling their time together with companionship, play, cuddles, and love, taking things one day at a time. There may be some very tough days ahead. We believe the power of prayer paws can help extend those good days for our wonderful furiends. We're asking everyone to send a pawsitive thought/prayer/Sibe vibes to our furiend Sierra in OH.

This is Sierra the day she became an honorary husky, taking part in Adopt-A-Husky's hike along with our own Sherman & Star. Sherman & Sierra were very fond of each other! They got a chance to play several times at different events.
Mom is very grateful for all the love & support she received from Sierra's mom during Sherman's illness & passing a few years ago. We dogs generally take this sort of thing better than our humans do, we know that we'll just continue on our journey. Humans don't seem to be able to accept this with as much ease and grace as we canines do. But it is the way of the great circle of life.

May God grant you many more days of joy and peace with your family here, Princess Sierra. We love you.

Wednesday WOOOO!!!

Mom's finally getting her photos together from her trip. I never knew there were so many bears in PA & OH! Look at this guy!!! (he's at the PA Welcome Center) He's enough to keep a pup from wandering off in the woods!!!

Several of the PA stops had wooden bears, too. Check out the little cub near the bottom.

Mom met this nice lady at that rest stop. She does rescue, and just adopted this little charmer! She said she'll only 6 weeks old & not even 3 lbs yet!
And here was her other traveling companion- Vincent. He thought the baby's food was real tasty! Hope they had a good trip!

All this talk of bears has me looking over my shoulder - I hope there's no bears on our island! Coyotes, yes, but bears???
Here's another sort of bear. This is our cousin, Bear. Not nearly so ferocious looking, is she? Mom says she's a sweetheart! She reminds us of Huffle!
And here's our other cousin, Brandy. She looks like she could ward off bears! I wouldn't mess with her! Actually, she's a sweetie, too. Mom says Moo & I would have a great time playing with her - she's very bouncy! Maybe she'll come visit one day.
Keep an eye out while woo are out playing, pups, cause woo wouldn't want to stumble on one of them there bears!

Monday's View from the Moo

Good Moo-rning everyone!
Time for my usual Monday Morning Post: The View from the Moo". Did woo all have a nice weekend? I hope so! Mine was furry nice - see me smiling?

Woo-hoo! Jack had a good wekend too. He found lots of good things to sniff out in the yard. Mom wouldn't let me do any smack-down moves on him, though.

He ran into something when I was chasing him and for a few days, he'd yelp real loud when he went to lie down. I was trying to play smack-down to make him feel better. Who doesn't feel better after a good game of bitey-face and smackdown?

Mom couldn't pinpoint what the problem was and was talking v-e-t visit, but after 2 days he stopped yelping. No v-e-t visit this time, lucky guy! I think its time fur a sneak-attack!

Sunday: Back to Blogging

Ha-roo everyone! Well, mom finally returned home last Tuesday.

Did you get that? Tuesday. And this is our first blog update!

She claims to have been very busy for the past 5 days catching up. This probably explains why she never leaves - it just takes too long to catch up! Anywho, we cornered her and clawed her into updating our blog.

First things first: Welcome home!

(Pardon the rotation glitche, mom still hasn't quite got the new imovie figured out. She gave up & published it anyway)

Obviously we are thrilled to have our mama back! She got a little freaked out with our enthusiasm, she says our paws are the canine equivalent of studded snow tires. (Guess we left a few scratches. sorry mom.)

While she was gone all week, we did nothing out of the ordinary. We kept a close eye on dad. did ya notice the new tile in the entry hall? That's what he did all week!

We also made sure no rabbits or squirrels invaded the yard (at least our half), and generally slept a lot.

Honestly, it was just too hot to do much else. Thanks to last night's rain, today is much cooler...a good day fur a nap! We have been enjoying the treats mom brought back fur us- they'e yummy!

We hope she'll have time to for a few regular posts this week. See woo then!

OK, we know. She's in OH at her HS reunion and she left us behind!

We had a mystery package arrive! Can't wait to see what it is!

Remember back on July 4th, the Five Sibes produced a wonderful

video of Patriotic Pets on Parade? Well, check this out!

We won 4th place!

Got this pretty pink ribbon with gold letters, a certificate, and

these two cows - they're black & white, just like us!

And they SQUEAK!

How cool is that?

Well, do woo want to know the answer to yesterday's riddle? Some of woo guessed it, but its that if woo look at the engraving on the bench, it says "Love Patricia..." and Patricia is mom's name! Neither she or our dad read the bench when they took the picture--

Sunday Stroll

Its a glorious, sunny, breezy day here! Mom & dad took us to Brenton's Point this morning before it got too hot outside. I was so happy, I gave dad a big MooSmooch!

We love walking on the rocky coast.

There are so many interesting smells,

sometimes woo just have to stop and let

the ocean air swirl around woo!

Hey look - some peeps were busy piling up rocks on the beach -

the tallest one is over 6' tall!

We watched the kites doing aerobatics, they were so cool!

If it wasn't fur these darn leashes, we could've caught one.

Dad took this nice picure. When mom uploaded it, she notice something furry cool (biggify the picture & see if woo can guess what it is! I'll tell woo the answer tomorrow if woo can't guess it)

Too Hot to Woo Wednesday

Monday's View from the Moo

Ha-woo everyone! Its me, Miss Moo!

I decided that today's View from the Moo should only have beawootiful pictures, and no more pests. (Which means: no brofurs pics today.) And so, I begin with one mom took of me this morning - I'm smiling my prettiest MooGrin fur woo!

And here's one where mom combined the two different clematis she planted on the arbor:

And one of our basket of begonias, they are such bright cheery flowers!

Oh alright, Jack is giving me those big puppy eyes - I'll let mom post one of him from this morning too. Here he is, making big puppy eyes at mom fur that treat in her pocket.

It's a hot one today, we're heading inside to nap next to the fans. And that's this week's view from the Moo.

Saturday pests

It's been a pesty-filled week. First there was the March of the Pavement Ant Flying Brigade. Literally thousands of these buggers marched across our living room for bout 3 days straight!

The bug guy came out to inspect, but he advised knocking them off - he said they are "friendly" ants, quite harmless. They have a colony around the foundation. But he pointed out that there is a colony of horrible brutal ugly aggressive bad ants living in the yard that are just waiting for these nice guys to disappear so they can move in to their territory. He said we DO NOT want that to happen! So, the peeps put up with it for a few days, with only minimal death dealt out to the hordes that tresspased inside the house.
There were yard pest too. Mom took this from inside looking down on one of the new flower gardens she made:
Cheeky rabbit! We'd take care of him & his family except that mom won't let us out in the unfenced part of the yard where they mainly stay. We did dispatch one inside our fenced yard, though. 1 down, 10 to go.

Then there was this big obnoxious pest on the deck:

Woo know what they say about payback, Mister!

She has no sense of humor on Saturdays.

Guess I'll have to watch my back.
